What was a family day at the beach like in the ‘olden days’?
Come and see how children spent a day at Henley and Grange in times past. Our display features photos, objects and rare film footage from different eras, showing changes in amusements, clothing and refreshments for a day at the beach. Sandwiches from home? Money to spend for an icecream? What is different, what is the same?
Exhibition open from Friday 1 to Sunday 31 May 2026 during library hours:
