A Timeline of European Settlement of Henley & Grange
The area we now know as Henley and Grange was first settled by Europeans in the late 1830s.
Prior to this the entire area of the Adelaide Plains was home to the Kaurna people who lived off the land ranging from Cape Jarvis at the southern tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula to Port Broughton in the north. Indigenous people are known to have inhabited areas of South Australia for at least 43,000 years.
